Usually, titanium stub ends are used in pipeline ASME B16.5 carbon steel reinforced flanges (overlap flanges) to minimize costs while maintaining excellent fluid corrosion resistance.  titanium stub ends can be offered in short or long patterns according to ASME B16.9. The material must cover titanium and its grade 1, 2, 5, 7,  9, 12 titanium alloy and be manufactured according to ASTM B363. For sizes up to 6 NPS, titanium stub ends are offered in a seamless type (ASTM B861). For sizes larger than NPS 6, titanium ferrules are provided welded (ASTM B265).
